Hello, I get 2 laser hair removal sessions done on my chest 4 months ago. I notice thinning of the overall hairs. And this looks was my GOAL from the beginning because 0 hair would look weird on a young middle eastern guy. Do you think if I stop going to laser hair removal they stay like this?? or do they go back to normal in couple years??

In our practice we use the Cutera Coolglide which is an Nd:YAG with a long wavelength (1064 nm).  This laser works very well on darker skin tones as it specifically targets the melanin in the hair follicles. We recommend 6 to 8 treatments for complete hair removal. Only certain hair follicles are in an active growth phase at a given time so it is important to get treatments 4-6 weeks apart to target all growth phases.  For your age, to maintain the overall thinning of your hair it is best to get a yearly maintenance treatment.

If you like the way your hair is looking, then continuing laser hair removal treatments could be done more on a maintenance basis as needed. This would be determined by your provider. Typically, if you wanted the hair completely destroyed, it would take on average 6-18 sessions to achieve that.

Unfortunately laser hair removal is not permanent so yes you would need to continue with your treatments in order to maintain your result. If you do not wish for all of your hair to be removed then I would recommend spacing your treatments out further than recommended by your laser technician.
