I have been having laser hair removal with alexandrite for almost two years now. The bikini area is almost neat with some hair regrowing on the labia still. However, hair on the thighs grows back almost everywhere as though no follicle was eliminated, not the same thickness but the same density. I had my last session two months ago, and it's costy, I am wondering why the hair is growing back so fast after just two months while it's my 13th session, and can I space them for 4 months?

Hormones play a significant role in hair growth, and fluctuations can result in the appearance of new hair even after laser treatments. I am not sure what color hair you have, but laser hair removal is most effective on dark, coarse hair. Lighter hair colors, such as blonde, red, or grey, and finer hair types are less responsive to laser treatment because they contain less melanin, which is the pigment the laser targets. This can result in some hair being less effectively treated and continuing to grow. Certain medical conditions and medications can also affect hair growth. Conditions like thyroid disorders or the use of certain drugs can stimulate hair growth, counteracting the effects of laser hair removal. I would recommend speaking to your provider about your concerns as well as seeing a provider to evaluate your hormone levels.
