Laser hair removal is very safe and has no effect on ovaries or fertility. Lasers are focused, intense beams of visible light (like what comes out of a light bulb, just more concentrated) and do not penetrate deeper that the skin. Lasers are sometimes confused with another form of the electromagnetic spectrum which are deeply penetrating xrays and gamma rays that can cause damage. Lasers are in the visible light spectrum and very safe and do not represent "radiation".
Treatment of embarrassing or unwanted hair can easily and safely be performed in teenagers. The risks are no different than for an adult. My goal in teenage patients is to make sure the treatment is truly what they want and not some undue influence from another person.
