Thank you for your questions. I would put off one or the other so that they do not interfere with one another. I would recommend separating the procedures by at least 6 weeks, but you should discuss this with your surgeon to get his or her preference. Better safe than sorry.Good luck!

If you are being treated for periodontal disease, I would recommend taking care of any ongoing infections prior to having an elective procedure like a BBL. I recommend that my patients take 100 grams of protein each day during the healing phase for the first six weeks following surgery. This protein can be in the form of manufactured premier protein shakes or optimum whey protein added to milk or water.  The objective is not weight gain but promotion of healing.  Maintaining a stable weight after liposuction will ensure that the results are long-lasting.  In most cases of weight loss, the buttocks and other areas with stored fat will become smaller.  About 50% of the fat that is transferred lives and becomes a part of you.  This will hold stable as long as there is no weight fluctuation.  Once you are released by your oral surgeon, reschedule your BBL.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
