I have patients take antibiotics (usually Keflex unless they have an allergy) for 24 hours after BBL (and almost all surgeries). There is no good evidence that antibiotics have any benefit beyond 24 hours after this type of surgery.
Some surgeons only give one dose at the time of surgery. Giving antibiotics long term may or may no t decrease the risk of infections or might even predispose you to resistant organisms.
As long as the patient does not have an allergy Keflex is the "standard" antibiotic prescribed for the post op period. It helps to prevent infection, but you can definitely develop an infection even if taking this medication. If any signs of infection are present: fever, increased pain, red, warm to touch, drainage, etc, you must call your doctor immediately as they will likely treat you with something stronger.
Only the plastic surgeon who performs your BBL can answer that question as he/she will know of any complications in wound healing. The first 3 to 4 days tend to be the worst for most BBL patients. Many of my patients feel well enough to return to work at 1 week, but some patients may need 2 ...
I have my BBL patients avoid sitting for 10 days after surgery except for using the toilet. This means they are either laying on their belly or their sides or standing during this period of time. When they go home after surgery they typically lay down on their side in the back...
4 days post op is very early. I would not worry about anything until you are more like 6 weeks out. There is swelling right now and indentations from your garment and you will lose ~30% of the fat injected, so you are far from you final result.
I tell my patients to wait about 6 weeks before they do anything strenuous. I have never twerked but it looks pretty strenuous to me. So I would recommend waiting about 6 weeks. Of course, follow the instructions of your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. I hope this helps! Good luck and...
Sitting should be avoided or at least done very briefly and only when it is necessary. Take note that it will take three weeks for the fat grafts to form their new blood supply and the extra-cellular matrix holding them together with the rest of the tissue to become strong enough to tol...
Hello and thank you for your excellent question. First, the goal of diode therapy is to tighten the skin, and reduce fat. If you assume that the technology actually works, it would be wise to refrain from using it after your BBL. Second, you should check with your surgeon, as he or she may think...
