I would recommend contacting your surgeon so that you can be evaluated in person 11 days after your lower face/neck lift. It would be unusual to have increased swelling under your chin 11 days after the procedure. It is possible there could be a fluid collection causing the swelling and the fluid may need to be removed.
Swelling is normal but without pictures its hard to tell. It looks like you are very recent from surgery so its best to follow up regularly with your doctor for any post surgical concerns.
Dear Hollystoy,Thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear that you have had swelling under the chin. At 11 days after Facelift and Necklift, this would not be considered to be normal. I would be seen and evaluated by your Plastic Surgeon. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns!Sincerely,Dr. P Daniel Ward
Yes, you may still have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. To speed up healing, you can try adding hyperbaric oxygen, lymphatic massage, venus legacy or exilis radiofrequency treatments. To improve final results, we will often do a kybella and ultherapy about 4-6 weeks after neck liposuction to get more of an outcome. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Hi, and thank you for your query. Without seeing you in person, or even some photographs, it is difficult to ascertain whether there is anything to be concerned about. Some swelling after a facelift is normal, and it is important to carry out any directions given to you by your surgeon with regards to aftercare and the wearing of compression garments. I do suggest you contact your surgeon who will be able to assess you and advise as to whether you require any intervention. Wishing you all the best.
Very difficult to say what is going on, even if you did include pictures. It does not sound normal - always best to return to your surgeon and get checked for things like this. It may be normal but also could be a fluid collection or bleeding under the skin.
I would recommend contacting your surgeon. This is unusual 11 days post op. You may have bleeding that should be addressed as soon as possible/
In less than 2 weeks recovery, it is still possible that the increased swelling under the chin is bleeding collecting under the skin. This is called a hematoma and needs to be evaluated right away by your surgeon.
It is still early post op and it is likely that things will improve. I would see your PS and be formally assessed to see how your facial muscles and facial nerve are functioning. .
Thanks for the question. Generally, most patients can fly within 24 to 48 hours after facelift surgery. I wish you all the best.
Dear Bunnyluvr,Thank you for your question. The question of when to begin using Retinol after your Facelift is best left to your Surgeon. I usually have my patients wait a minimum of 2-4 weeks before beginning to use any Retinol products. Please let us know if you have any other questions or c...
