After having rhinoplasty there has been an indent in one side of my nose causing it to look more curved. What causes this and what could be done to fix it?
Answer: Fixing a dent on the side of the nose Fixing a dent on the side of the nose: A dent such as yours on the side of the nose in this location can be caused by an inward shift of the upper lateral Cartlidge or by a deviation of the nasal septum. In either event the simplest and most predictable way to fix this is to place a small Cartlidge onlay graft. Some surgeons use fillers but these can have rare but serious complications.I have used fat injection in the past for small defects, and this has worked well. But In my opinion, the simplest and safest and most predictable correction is with a small onlay graft of Cartlidge.

Answer: Correcting a post-operative "dent" Depressions following surgery may result from over medialization of an in-fractured nasal bone or a collapse of the upper lateral cartilage immediately below the nasal bones. Either corrective surgery using spreader or onlay grafts may be performed or fillers judiciously injected.

Answer: Permanent non-surgical nose job for a straighter nasal appearance. In our practice, we have been using microdroplet Silikon-1000 to permanently fill small indentations after rhinoplasty for over 22 years without incident. You are likely seeing this because you have thin nasal sjin. Hope this helps. Dr Joseph

Answer: Rhinoplasty Thank you for your questions and for sharing your photograph. Unfortunately, small indents and irrigularities may occur after Rhinoplasty. This may occur for variety of reasons such as wound contraction during the healing process which may not occur symmetrically. Firstly, you must wait at least for 12 months so that the healing process is complete before seeking help. Afterwards, you will have a couple of options. You can have a filler injection which can produce the desired outcome immediately and with minimal down time. No general anesthetic is required. This is usually a reversible procedure and rarely if patient is unhappy with the result can be dissolved. However, you will require a repeat treatment on yearly basis. The other option is a revision rhinoplasty surgery which carries significantly more risks, cost and may require a general anaesthesia. Best wishes,

Answer: Residual deformity of nose post rhinoplasty Hi and welcome to our forum! From your photo, you appear to be exhibiting an in-fracture deformity of the right nasal bone. This can be corrected with a secondary rhinoplasty to adjust the positioning. In some individuals, an onlay graft can be placed to improve contour.
