I only want breast augmentation without a lift

Question

Petite. In my 30s. Slightly sagging breasts. Maybe moderate. Not comfortable providing publically available photos on this site. My concern is with the push from doctors to get an augmentation and a lift. I refuse to get a lift. I only want an augmentation. Are there any doctors who will just give me my wish for bigger breasts without the ugly scarring of a lift? Because I refuse to accept a lift in my first procedure. Thank you.

After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size and style breast implant is right for them. Mildly Sagging Breasts: If your breasts are mildly droopy, a saline or silicone gel implant placed behind the pectoral muscle might help create the illusion of perkiness. That’s because as the implant fills out the top of the breast, it also fills out the bottom, making it look as if the nipple has moved higher. It hasn’t. Hi, thank you for sharing your question. Although it may not be recommended to avoid the lift, it is your choice and as long as you know the risks and benefits, you should be able to proceed with implants alone.

Hi, In my opinion if more than one surgeon suggested you a breast augmentation with a breast lift it is because that may be the ideal procedure for you in order to have the best result. You can always try to divide the procedures, first by doing the breast augmentation, taking in consideration that you will, eventually, need a lift. You have to understand the limits of each procedure and the benefits of each one. It could be possible, but it will all depends on many measurements we take as plastic surgeon, the size of your implants, the profile, the amount of skin or ptosis you have, and your anatomy. Don't forget, if we recommend a lift, it is because we want you to have the best shape possible.

Thanks for your question! Without seeing your photos, it's impossible to answer that question. However, if multiple surgeons are telling you the same thing, there is probably a good reason for it. I would suggest seeking an additional opinion and if you aren't hearing what you want to hear, maybe breast surgery isn't the right choice for you. Best of luck!

Many women do not like breast lift because of the vertical scars associated with traditional techniques. The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Later, fat transfers or small implants can be placed if additional volume is desired.

Breast augmentation without mastopexy (when in fact a lift should have been done) can lead to breast deformity. This appears like a double bubble whereby the implant sits higher on the chest footprint and the breast skin envelope is lower.

If you are confident that a lift is not necessary due to the degree of sagging then I suggest visiting with a few board certified plastic surgeons near you for consultations.  Make sure they are experienced, have good credentials, and that you review before/after photos. If all are saying the same thing be wary of disregarding their expertise.  An exam or photos would help provide a better recommendation.
