Why does my chin stick out like this? How can I fix it? (photos)

Question

When I smile I get a double chin type thing with deep lines either side of my chin. It is also seen when I talk or just generally open my mouth. I am not overweight at all, about 5'1-5'2 and 44kgs, so it's not really a double chin, but I do have a round shaped face. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I know it's not a huge deal but it really bothers me and makes me hate my smile!

Your photo shows that,although you're not overweight, there are are localized areas of fat which move up over the jaw when you smile.It would helpful to see a photo from the side to determine if a chin Implant would improve your profile.The areas of fat can be corrected with liposuction.

Thus dynamic chin deformity is a function of how the soft tissues of the chin redrape over the end of the bone when you smile. The soft tissue pad balls up over the bony chin prominence. It may be that reshaping of the chin bone may help the soft tissues shape differently over it when you smile. But I would first start by having some Botox injections done into the mentalis muscle to see of simply changing the amount of muscle contraction has a positive effect.

It is hard to say without a full evaluation. But it might be that you have a small chin and genioplasty could help it.
