Please discuss this with your PS as they know what was performed and can tell you regardless if it can be improved with tincture of time or other intervention and when that would be appropriate.
Hello, I would recommend discussing this issue directly with your surgeon since they fully understand the type of repair that was performed, and whether this appearance is expected.
Once you are done healing, I would consult with a board certified plastic surgeon about a fleur-de-lis tummy tuck procedure. This will help remove the excess skin and give you a more smooth appearance to your abdomen.
You have a sizable amount of surplus skin that will always be an aesthetic problem. You've also been closed with Staples suggesting that aesthetics was a secondary concern with your hernia repair.
Hi Skye1.Your question doesn't give enough information. For example, if this was done for cosmetic reasons, I would say no. If this was done by only for reconstructive reasons without regard for aesthetics, and your hernia is fixed, I would say mission accomplished.I suspect that the appearance of the wound will improve somewhat over time.sek
It appears that you have had a reconstructive procedure to repair your hernia and not a cosmetic procedure to remove extra skin. there will probably always be extra skin with indentations and rolls unless you get a cosmetic tummy tuck. Please see a board certified plastic surgeon for evauation and to discuss your options.
