I'm planning on getting buccal fat removal in the late fall/early winter to help make my face slimmer and more defined. Can filler make my jawline more defined and my chin longer/more v shaped?

Dermal fillers are a great way to improve a jawline. They last 10-12 months and are easy and safe to apply. I like using Radiesse for this as it gives a much nicer finish, lasts longer and is more volumizing. Find a provider you trust and I believe you will love the results. JB

Thank you for your query. Dermal filler can be a very effective way of adding definition to the jawline and can also be used to add volume to the chin-giving the illusion of a ‘V shape’. Botox for jaw slimming could also be another non-surgical option. It would be worth visiting an experienced practitioner to discuss your options.

A formal evaluation would be needed to determine what's best. Many of my patients try to avoid surgery, so we perform a non-surgical chin augmentation treatment with injectable fillers. Fillers like Radiesse as well as Sculptra are injected into the area, improving the overall appearance of the lower face and balancing the jaw and lip harmony. We use cannula injections to meticulously contour and project the chin, soften the chin along the jawline and improve the chin crease.

Thanks for the question.  In order to give you a more detailed answer, it would great if photos are provided.  Often, I leave buccal fat alone, since with aging we lose this fullness.  Cervical liposuction and possible chin augmentation may also help. Good luck!

Dermal fillers are an excellent choice for creating jawline definition. They can sharpen jaw angles and and in some cases when used with chin fillers they can soften the appearance of jowls. Chins can be filled for a more V-shaped chin and to project the chin if it is recessed. It is best you consult your doctor for an assessment of suitability.
