I'm 45 and have been doing botox, fillers (jawline/around mouth etc) I have done Ultherapy and threading with very minimal results. I am now considering a lower facelift to address sagging jowls and neck. I've also started to notice eyelids are sagging and dark circles under my eyes. What would the best option be to address eyes? Should I do both procedures at the same time? If so, what is the downtime associated with doing both.

Answer: How to refresh the eyes and the lower face at the same time Hello, and thank you for providing photos along with your question. While an assessment of your skin is necessary to determine the best procedure or combination of procedures, there are several ways to rejuvenate the eye area. One is through a dermal filler treatment. By injecting small amounts of filler around the tear trough, the skin will become plump and supple, lifting the skin and smoothing out the visible groove in the skin. There is also facial fat transfer to restore volume under your eyes. For a more comprehensive approach, you may have a lower blepharoplasty which will create a smoother transition from the lower eyelid to the cheek by addressing loose or wrinkled skin of the lower eyelid and excess puffiness or bags under the eyes. And yes, you can combine a facelift with blepharoplasty. In fact, combining multiple facial rejuvenation procedures can be an effective way to address all your concerns at the same time. Blepharoplasty and a facelift are commonly performed together to produce comprehensive results. The best way to determine your eligibility for the procedures is to schedule an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon. Your surgeon can do a proper evaluation, customize the best treatment plan according to your desired goals, and ensure the best possible results.

Answer: Facelift and blepharoplasty Thank you for your question. Yes, a blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) could be performed at the same time as a facelift. In fact, this is very common since addressing only one or the other would lead to incongruity of the face. Downtime is typically about 7-10 days, but there can be some variability depending on course of recovery. I hope that helps, and all the best to you! -Dr. P
