My labia cause me a lot of distress. I am mid twenties and have not had anyone see it or touch it and I'm a virgin because of it. It also causes physical discomfort. I want to get a labiaplasty for these reasons but I am terrified of losing/changing sensation. I'm not sure whether my labia contribute a lot to my sexual sensation down there as I don't really use them sexually, only clit and internal vagina are used but I'm still scared. I have nerve issues (sciatica)will this also pose a problem?
Answer: No sensation loss In my practice I have not had a single patient with sensation changes after labiaplasty with hood reduction. I’m so sorry that you’ve had such a challenging time with the appearance of your labia. “Labiaplasty is liberating” is a mantra we use in our clinic to describe how easily women can move on after this procedure. Both physical discomfort and self-confidence will improve dramatically after labiaplasty. Back or nerve issues elsewhere (sciatica) will be unchanged by the surgery. Hope this helps and best of luck. Find a surgeon with reviews, photos and videos that look like the results you want to achieve.

Answer: No chance of losing sensation following labiaplasty Thanks for your question and accompanying photo. Sexual pleasure and orgasm ability will not be negatively impacted with labiaplasty and clitoral hood reduction. You have very long and dark labia minora as well as redundant lateral prepuce - I recommend that you have both corrected in order to achieve the best results. I have operated on dozens of virginal women in their 20-30s who have avoided intimacy because of their embarassment. You are an excellent candidate for an in-office aesthetic vulvar procedure performed under local anesthesia. Go to the link below to see hundreds of before and after photos where you will find many examples that are similar to you. From that link you can schedule a virtual consultation via phone or zoom, at which time we can discuss in depth your anatomy, expectations and concerns. Women from all over the world travel to my Center for their Intimate Makeover. Best of luck,

Answer: Chance of losing sensitivity with labiaplasty without clitoral hood reduction Hi DMceo, With or without a clitoral hood reduction, the chances of losing sensation are fairly low in the hands of an experienced surgeon, whether you choose a plastic surgeon or a urogynecologist who specializes in this type of surgery. No one would ever say "Never", but again, it is pretty low. I would definitely check with several surgeons who do many of these surgeries and I would check their reviews as well. Hope this helps a bit. Best Wishes, Dr. Christine Rodgers

Answer: Labiaplasty and loss of sensation. Dmceo12345 I certainly understand your concern of loss of sexual sensation after a labiaplasty. However I do not think you will have any loss of sensation after the labiaplasty. Your sciatica will not pose a problem with sexual sensation. You will benefit from having a labiaplasty. I am sure that you are having issues with discomfort and self esteem. A labiaplasty changes a women life. Consult an experienced cosmetic surgeon or urogynecologist. Review before and after photos and express your concerns in detail.
