What All lab works do they ask in order to get the BBL done? I would love to know all that information before setting sx date? I would hate travel so far and pay for hotels and flights etc. Only to find out all my lab works aren’t all done or to the expectations of My Dr? Thank you if anyone can help me with this I’d really appreciate it.
Answer: What lab work needs to be done for a BBL? Most surgeons will do some blood work prior to surgery, but some surgeons do not. It is always best to ask these questions of your chosen surgeon as recommendations may be different. The surgeon you select should know everything about your past medical and surgical history and be able to make a determination about what labs should be ordered, the need for EKG, the need for medical clearance, the need for anticoagulation, the appropriateness of the surgical intervention based upon the risk factors and current physique, etc.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Preoperative clearances Hello and thank you for your question. Every surgeon's preoperative protocol is different for clearances. It is best that you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss their requirements. Your surgeon will take into consideration your medical history, family medical history, as well as your height and weight to determine what labs need to be done prior to an elective surgery. Best of luck!
