If a prescribed retinol is used before Accutane, will that help prevent the purging stage? (Photo)

I have been using a strong dose of prescribed retinol for sun damage for about 2 months now... What difference in my skin texture!!! I have gone through the purging with retinol and I was also taking tetracycline. I stopped taking both and I will be starting Accutane. I would say I have a mild case of acne, however, it just doesn't want to go away! I think it's hormonal... I'm wondering if the retinol that I've used prior will help prevent the purging stage during the beginning of using Accutane?
