I have been doing a lot of research on treatments for double chin. I definetly DO NOT want to get surgery done. Right now am living in Mexico city and a dermatologist told me about two options for injectables: Kybella and enzymes. My question is: are those the same? and if not, what is the difference between treatments?
Answer: Kybella Dear Resourceful932469, Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella. Answer: Neck Sagging/Fat - VASERlipo, FaceTite/AccuTite, Morpheus8/Fractora, Neck Lift/Platysmaplasty; Kybella, Thermage, Ultherapy "For a double chin, InMode FaceTite with VASERlipo would give you the best result. With significant neck sagging you would need a facelift / neck lift with muscle tightening (platysmaplasty). At the same time, I would recommend lasers (Fraxel, CO2, Halo, or Erbium) and microneedling RF (Fractora, Morpheus8, PiXel8, Intensif) to improve the crepey skin and wrinkles. Overall, the neck can be treated with a combination approach: 1. Microneedling and laser treatments for texture 2. Botox, Dysport, Xeomin or Jeuveau to help platysmal bands 3. Intensif, Fractora, PiXel8, or Morpheus8 microneedling RF for crepey skin and lifting 4. Injectable fillers like Belotero, Restylane Silk, Versa, and Juvederm Volbella to improve lines and folds 5. Face/neck lifting if sagging is prominent or premature, with or without platysmaplasty (muscle tightening) 6. Renuvion (J-Plasma), ThermiRF, and InMode FaceTite/AccuTite for internal tightening 7. Ultherapy and Thermage for external tightening 8. Regular Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra, or InMode Forma treatments with facials to maintain tightness 9. PDO NovaThreads or Silhouette InstaLift cone threads for lifting and long-term collagen production See an expert for a formal evaluation and to develop a personalized treatment plan based on your individual situation and goals. Answer: Treatment of a double chin Understanding what causes a double chin and how it is best treated as a fairly complex topic, and while fat reduction can give us some improvements for some people it is not necessarily the definitive treatment or the best treatment. Individuals seeking reduction of a double chin, almost universally, have a facial skeleton imbalance with Amanda ball that is small in comparison to the Maxilla. Without including pictures, we can begin to make an assessment. I do not know of any enzymatic treatment for reducing subcutaneous fat.I gold standard for reducing subcutaneous fat is and always has been Liposuction. Kybella it’s by comparison and effective unpredictable and unforgiving if the results don’t turn out the way you like. The majority of plastic surgeons will probably not recommend that treatment. It is a treatment used by those who don’t have surgical background for the appropriate treatment of subcutaneous fat reduction in the chin and neck. Candidacy for the procedure varies greatly on the number of characters, including age, bone structure, potential skin, laxity, and history of weight, fluctuations, etc. etc. Likewise, there a major differences in the skills and experience among different providers. I recommend having multiple in person, consultations with both oral surgeons and board-certified plastic surgeons in your community. Oral surgeons tend to see things more for a facial skeleton perspective and sometimes get better primary assessment. Patients should be more selective than they think necessary when it comes to permanent and irreversible body or facial contouring procedures. Making an accurate assessment and predictable Lee, getting quality results when treating this part of the face is more difficult than most people realize. It is a complex anatomic area with multiple variables contributing. Simplistic solutions, especially in the lack of having a comprehensive quality assessment, an leads to a significant chance of underwhelming resultsMatsHagstrom MD
