I got 0.7ml of Silikon 1000 in my lips last year. I'm 21 years old. What are my options for fixing my upper lip? (Photos)

Done by a board certified surgeon/dermatologist. Before Silikon I tried Restylane & Juvederm but they never lasted more than 3 months. I got tired of the constant bruising especially from the 2 week touchups (coworkers kept thinking i was being abused). Looked amazing at first, now I have asymmetry/lumps. Was planning to go back & get more filler to fix it but im scared of looking worse. Can it be removed? Are there any doctors that specialize in Silicone removal in the lips? No more mistakes :(

It's too soon to tell what your final results will be. You have swelling, which can be asymmetrical, and last 1-2 weeks after lip injections. If you're unhappy with your final results, steroid injections and radio-frequency treatments may help. You may also be able to get a better result by adding HA acid fillers on top of the Silikon. See an expert. Nodularity or bumps may occur in the lips after any injectable filler, including HA. You appear to have a small nodule in your left upper lip, and possibly your left lower lip. These may be improved with dilute triamcinolone acetonide (steroid) injections. If that does not help, small nodules may be amenable to excision in the office with local anesthetic and little or no downtime. Lip scars heal nearly invisibly when excision is performed properly. I would recommend that you see a fully-trained, qualified plastic surgeon for full evaluation and treatment.  Silicone often needs to be surgically excised.  A consultation will enable you to be appropriately treated.

The first thing I would suggest is that you not "go back." Having dealt with silicone injections for 40 years, I am definitely not a fan. I have removed more than I have seen improve the problem. You could remove what you have, but, from your pictures, it does not look like it would be reasonable. Other than doing nothing, the other option is to add a different filler. I do not know exactly what you had before or how it was injected, but when properly injected, Restylane may resorb in less than 6 months but usually lasts at least that long, but Juvederm should last an average of about 10. The newer Juvederm products like Volbella and Vollure should last 12-18 months respectively, and, perhaps longer, when properly injected, and neither, done by an expert, should require frequent "touch ups."
