I’d like to know if having a direct lip lift will result in giving me a gummy smile? (Photos)

Question

I already have maximum teeth show when I smile so can’t risk any more teeth show as that will result in gummy smile. Is there a way to have a direct lip lift but not increase the teeth show whatsoever? I am wanting to shorten the philtrum and give myself a bigger top lip, Question regarding direct lip lift only please ? Thank you

It is impossible to evaluate lips while smiling and give you a good advise. In general,  lip lift consists of skin and orbicularis oris muscle resection; the later is responsible for functional portion of the lift and teeth/gum show. In person consultation with a plastic surgeon familiar with this procedure is recommended.

A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. You will learn to smile with less intensity and not give a gummy show.
