A few months ago I got two moles from my face removed. Both are coming back, but the scar on my nose left a crater, a sort of indentation and I’m hoping there’s a corrective measure for it? It’s more prominent than the mole was and I’m honestly regretting the surgery.
Answer: Recommend doing laser treatment to even out skin texture. Applying a small amount of filler can also reduce appearance Mole removal begins with a comprehensive examination and consultation to determine the likelihood of a mole being worrisome. Excisional and incisional biopsies are reserved for suspicious moles. But it’s good news that most moles are not problematic and are only cosmetic, thus leading to the option of scarless or non-surgical mole removal with lasers and RF and plasma. Our office specializes in non-surgical mole removal. Best, Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian Realself 100 Surgeon

Answer: Scar on nose Thanks for your question and helpful photo. You might want to go to your dermatologist and ask them to do a tiny scar revision with a punch instrument. It would require numbing the area with local anesthetic, using a small punch that is like a little cookie cutter, lifting the indented scar out, and repairing the edges in a tiny straight line with fine sutures. If you follow the wound care instructions carefully and protect it from scratching or trauma, it could heal in a much more cosmetically acceptable way than the indentation. Another option might be dermabrasion, or microneedling, but I would see your dermatologist first. Best of luck!

Answer: Scar treatment Thank you for your question and photograph. It's difficult to evaluate your skin through this type of forum. Atrophic scarring responds well to therapies that cause injury to the skin resulting in collagen formation. Treatment options include laser therapy, microneedling or dermapen, or even some injectable fillers are an option. I highly recommend you consult with a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon to have your scar evaluated and to discuss appropriate treatment options that best suit your needs. Take care and good luck.
