Uneven eyes - I got eyelid retraction surgery a few years ago and altho it improved the height of my eyelid it actually raised it too much in my opinion. Is there any way of raising my other eyelid too even them out?

As we age, our eyelids naturally sag and droop. A combination approach would be best to see visible improvement. In terms of non-surgical treatment options, I would recommend a Chemical Brow Lift (using Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, or Jeuveau) and filler injections to rejuvenate the temples, eyebrow, eyelid, eye troughs, upper eye hollows, and forehead. I typically combine this with Ultherapy and thread lifting to lift the brow; RF and skin tightening laser treatments to stimulate collagen production and rejuvenate the skin; and laser or superficial RF devices for improvements in texture, color, and any crepey skin around the eyes as needed. Hi and thanks for the question! It appears you have a relative ptosis of the left eyelid. This can be improved temporarily with medication- called Upneeq. It can also be permanently improved through a ptosis repair surgery. I recommend seeing a surgeon who specializes in these procedures for a consultation. I wish you the best!

Great question! This type of surgery is known as ptosis correction. Ptosis surgery, performed by an experienced surgeon, is intended to obtain symmetrical results, however, when performed one side, may lead the other side to shift position due to a neurological reflex. Revision ptosis surgery may need to be performed on both sides (versus one side, although this too may be an option) to obtain the best control of symmetry. The way to decide this decision is to have a detailed in person examination with a surgeon to assess your eyelid position at rest and during movement.

I do not know your history, but it is generally standard practice when someone has a ptotic eyelid to look at carefully and, generally, treat the other lid also as it is almost always ptotic but compensated.  If you had the right one treated but nothing done to the left, the ptosis that was already present simply became obvious.  You need a ptosis surgery on the left by an expert who understands the way the 2 eyes react to each other.
