Crown placed 1 month ago and I can tell its too high and needs to be adjusted. How do they adjust it and does it cost a lot?

I had a crown placed about a month ago & now I can definitely tell it needs to be adjusted. This was my first crown of two & two different women in office adjusted each one for the dentist, the second one explained what would happen if it was set too high. Now I’m experiencing all that but am curious how they adjust it & if it cost a lot?
