I have been performing microneedling now for nearly twenty-four years. It is an excellent technique for treating very superficial, surface textural or color abnormalities; it is NOT for treating deep scars. Asking microneedling to treat deeply indented scars would be like asking a hammer to screw in a screw; there is nothing inherently wrong with a hammer if it is used for the correct purpose. Sorry that you you wasted your time and money and were left with only frustration. On the other hand, subcision, another simple and relatively inexpensive technqiue, which I have been performing since 1995, has a long and successful record for elevating and smoothing all kinds of indented scars. No doubt, in your quest, you will be hawked this or that expensive fraxel laser or RF device with fancy sounding names, but you would be wise to exercise a great deal of "buyer beware" caution when considering these, since the hard science to support their use lags woefully behind the heavy marketing and advertising hype and social media buzz that surrounds them.
