Will CoolSculpting have adverse effects on skin that had lost pigment due to vitiligo?

I have been thinking about getting cool sculpting on my double chin area but I just found out that I have vitiligo in that same area. Will cool sculpting make the skins loss of pigment spread or be more pronounced?

Hi,I have not heard of Vitiligo being a contraindication to Coolsculpt. During a Coolsculpt treatment, the Certified Provider will protect your skin with a gel pad so that it's not compromised. I suggest consulting with your local service provider to determine the best treatment plan for your concerns. Injuries to the skin such as surgery have been known to cause vitiligo. Although there is no data on CoolSculpting and vitiligo per se, the skin does get very cold with CoolSculpting. I would recommend discussing this with your dermatologist before having CoolSculpting. Best of luck to you!

You shouldn't have any issues with CoolSculpting treatment even though you have vitiligo. Make sure you speak a plastic surgeon to determine if CoolSculpting is a worthy procedure over liposuction for your presentation. Good luck from New York City

I do not know of any link between cool-sculpting and vitiligo. I think you would be OK to proceed as the cooling effect is not known to progress or flare up vitiligo. Vitiligo is an auto-immune disease process.
