Unhappy with how Juvederm looks in forehead - How long does it take to wear off?

I went to a nurse practitioner and she convinced me to try juvaderm for my deep forehead wrinkles, since Botox typically wears off fast. It's effective, but now my face looks WEIRD! I can't pinpoint why, but I'm unhappy with my look now. How long does this take to wear off?

Juvaderm typically last between 6 to 12 months.  Most providers can dissolve the filler with Hyaluronidase if you want it immediately resolved.

Thank you for sharing your experience and question. It will likely take 4-6 months to resolve. You can easily have the filler removed with one of the hyaluronidases. In a minute it will all be dissolved. See an experienced oculofacial surgeon for comprehensive evaluation and discussion of treatment options.

Thank you for your question. Juvederm may be used in the forehead to help decrease the depth of static lines so they appear less deep. 
Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid and may be dissolved using a filler removal called Hyaluronidase. 
It may take up to 2 years to dissolve on its own depending of which filler was used. 
Good luck and always make sure to see a trained RN or MD in injectables. Awareness in facial anatomy is very important.

Neuromodulators (such as Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeuveau) and soft tissue fillers like Belotero can improve the appearance of the forehead by reducing lines, wrinkles and folds. Deeper lines and wrinkles need a combination approach with Botox, fillers, lasers, and microneedling/PRP. Botox is definitely the better choice for forehead lines. Filler, however, works great for folds and lines in the cheeks and lip area. In general, fillers last anywhere from 6 months to 12 months. I recommend you to continue with the Botox treatment for your forehead lines in the future. Best wishes.

A photo would have been helpful. However, in general, if ordinary Juvederm was used, the results may last six to eight months or so. Plain Juvederm has a well-known tendency to hold on to tissue fluid and this is perhaps is what you are describing as looking weird. Or perhaps too much was injected. If you are very unhappy or impatient, the filler can be dissolved with hyauronidase. Ideally, a cohesive, low viscoity HA filler, injected with the proper technique, is more appropriate for use in the forehad and glabella regions. As to how best to proceed, you may wish to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist. Best of luck.

Hi, thank you for your question! Juvederm fillers can take 9-12 months to wear off completely and sometimes even longer. The filler can be dissolved as long as it is a hyaluronic based filler. I would recommend following up with certified injector if you are not happy with the results.

Filler it not typically used to treat forehead lines. 
Assuming your injector used hyaluronic acid, it can be dissolved if you are unhappy with the outcome. With fillers, I do recommend waiting a few weeks until the fillers settle incase the the reason you are not satisfied is a result of post procedure inflammation and swelling.

It’s important to have a provider perform an in-person consultation to assess your unique concerns, but if your current results bother you, you can talk to your injector about dissolving the product with hyaluronidase. Otherwise, you can let your body naturally metabolize the filler over time, which typically takes about a year. Hope this helps!
