I appreciate your question. While Ultherapy offers effective skin tightening on other areas of the face and body, I’m not sure it would be my first choice for addressing wrinkly thighs and knees. In my practice, we also offer ThermiTight, which tightens skin by delivering radiofrequency energy into the underlying dermal layers. This treatment tends to offer better results in the area you want treated. I recommend you schedule an in-person assessment with a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist with expertise in non-surgical skin tightening for a comprehensive examination and customized treatment plan. I wish you all the best!
In my professional opinion Ultherapy works best on the face neck and décolletage. Because of its technology there is a possibility it could work for that area but I recommend doing a treatment such as the Morpheus8. It is proven to achieve skin tightening in the upper knee/thigh area without the invasiveness of surgery.
Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon
In my experience, Ultherapy is quite good at maintaining skin for face, neck, and upper chest, but not as good for other locations of the body. You should always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon (double check on ABPS web site) to ensure you are getting good advice and you are receiving safe surgery.
Ultherapy, when used on the thighs and knees, will provide a subtle improvement at a high treatment cost. I prefer a combination of ThermiTight and Sculptra for this area which works much better. Make sure you see an experienced physician for an in-person consultation and evaluation. Best wishes.
Ultherapy has been such a disappointment as was thermage in trying to do anything to tighten or smooth the skin. Morpheus8 is the latest, greatest radiofrequency device to help tighten and smooth skin anywhere on the body from on top the skin. It is often complimented with face/body tite or acutite which works from under the skin upwards so you get double tightening.
