What size will 330cc take me up to?

Question

I know it's difficult to predict a bra size until augmentation is complete and bras from different companies do vary. However I'd just like to ask if anyone could give a rough guess as to what size I could look at with 330cc? I am currently an AA with little to no tissue. Bwd is 13, I am 140lbs/63kg so slightly curvier. I need to buy some sports bras and don't know what size! I would like to think I'd go to at least a C. I'm going high profile, rounds & under the muscle (mentor, silicone smooth)

Without a direct examination, it is impossible to say what bra size you will be afterwards for a number of reasons. First, all bra makers are different without a true standard, so you could be a B in one manufacturer and a C in another.  It also depends on your chest wall, width, etc.  I can say, though, that if your BWD is 13cm, you should be going with a wider implant.  A 330cc HP is around 11.5cm.  You always want something closer to your BWD, which would mean either a 350-375cc Moderate Plus or Moderate Plus Xtra.  I recommend a few consultations to really go over what will work best for you.  I hope this helps.

It depends on your chest wall measurements and existing breast tissue as implant size does not accurately correlate to a bra size.  It also depends on the brand and style of bra you wear as size varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Thank you for your question. "Tissue based planning" relies on your chest and breast measurements and is the safest way to ensure good long term results. Your surgeon should determine what size and projection are necessary to give you your desired result based on your body's measurements. You're very small (AA), but I think you will get at least a 2 cup size increase (maybe more) from 330 cc breast implants. The ultimate size you wear will be based on where you buy your bras and the style you prefer. I suggest you ask for more specifics from your plastic surgeon.Best wishes, Dr. Aldo

Thank you for the question and picture.   There is no accurate/reliable/predictable correlation between size/profile breast implant utilized and cup size achieved. For example, I do not think that the generalizations of "200 cc equates to 1 cup" hold any validity or are helpful in any specific or practical way.  In my practice, I ask patients not to communicate their goals, or evaluate the outcome of the procedure performed, based on cup size references. Also, in my practice, I ask patients not to buy bras until they are at least 4 to 6 weeks of their procedure.

Ultimately, careful communication of your goals (in my practice I prefer the use of goal pictures, direct examination/communication in front of a full-length mirror, in bra sizers, and computer imaging)  as well as careful measurements (dimensional planning) will be critical.

***Given that your surgery is coming up soon, I would suggest that you spend additional time communicating your goals/concerns directly with your plastic surgeon, preferably prior to the date of surgery.  It will be important for many reasons, that you feel comfortable that you and your plastic surgeon are on the "same page" prior to proceeding.

Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is:

1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work.

2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals.

In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. For example,

I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "C cup” etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful.

Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. Again, the use of computer imaging has been very helpful during the communication process, in our practice.

3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery, after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers.
