Hyaluronic acid filler during breastfeeding?

Question

I Know the risk related to Injections in general and that the lidocaine is the anestetic that is included into fillers that is dangerous for my baby, so considering that jaluronic acid is a natural substance my question is: is it possible to have a lidocaine free filler during a brestfeeding period? Are there other active substances included that can be dangerous too? the quantity 'and speed' of absorption are related to the risk for the baby? I thank You so much for your reply. Best Regards

While it has not been tested in nursing women, there is no risk of the filler getting into your breast milk. As for the lidocaine, we routinely use lidocaine injections for biopsies and surgeries on nursing women.  Hyaluronic acids are also present in every living thing and are not, to my knowledge, at all toxic.  I cannot advise you, and I recommend you check with your own doctor and pediatrician, but I know of no risk using hyaluronic acid fillers during breast feeding.

There is little to no evidence pointing to fillers being dangerous or not dangerous. Therefore, just to be on the safe side, it's better that you don't get fillers at all until after you've stopped breastfeeding.

There have been no studies done on how hyaluronic acid fillers will or will not affect pregnancy or a developing fetus. This is why most injectors recommend waiting until after pregnancy and breastfeeding to have any cosmetic procedures done. Best of Luck!

No, you should not get any fillers while you are breast feeding.  The safety for the baby has not been studied and its not worth the risk.  It can wait until the breast feeding is done since it is a cosmetic procedure and not medically necessary.
