Surgical clip left in 7 months after tummy tuck. Is this harmful?

I recently had an X-ray of my coccyx and it was noted that a surgical clip was visible in my left pelvis. I had a tummy tuck about 7 months ago so I’m sure it was from this. 1) is this harmful to remain in? 2) will this prevent me from having future MRIs? I have a condition and have to undergo them periodically. Thank you

Surgical clips are often used in surgery and it is okay to leave them in. But I don’t know how much it would affect an MRI

A surgical clip should not cause issues medically.  Depending on the type of clip that is present,  you will be able to safely undergo an MRI.   If the clip is non ferromagnetic, which describes many clips used today, you can proceed with an MRI.  Check with your radiologist for further guidance.
