How may rhinoplasties / surgeries do you perform on average per day?

How many rhinoplasties can a surgeon perform on the same day with proper attention to each? The answer depends on the experience of the surgeon, how long it takes him to do a rhinoplasty, the difficulty of the cases he is doing, and the technique he is using. When I first began performing rhinoplasty‘s it took me over three hours to perform a simple rhinoplasty. that’s not because I was taking my time and paying close attention, but because I was inexperienced. It now takes me less than half the time to do a straight forward rhinoplasty, taking my time and not rushing. So I usually perform four rhinoplasties on a given day,and have all the time I need to speak to the patient prior to surgery and confirm the goals which were previously set and perform the surgery without any rush or concern about the schedule. However in some cases patients may have crooked noses, deviated septum, or other Anomalies which take more time. If I have several of that kind of case I usually leave two or 2 1/2 hours each, and will only do a maximum of three in a day and sometimes only two if they are extremely difficult cases. Some surgeons use closed rhinoplasty such as myself which takes a little less time than open , So that is a factor as well. A surgeon performing open septoRhinoplasty in a complex patient may only do two on a given day. but a surgeon performing closed straightforward rhinoplasty could easily do four on a given day if he is very experienced and spend all the time that is necessary to give each patient the time necessary to achieve the optimal result.

Hi sweet_lavendar! I perform 1 rhinoplasty a day to make sure the nose is straight and all expectations are met. This way, I don't feet rushed and can provide excellent results for the patient.

Great question. I understand your concern. I personally prefer to perform 2 surgeries a day 4 days a week. This gives me enough time to rest between surgeries and also revisit my patients for their follow-up appointments. I meet my patients for their consultations one day prior to their surgeries. Consultation does not have a set time. I spend as much time needed as possible for my patient. It's very important to listen to their expectations, concerns, and problems. You, as a patient should be going into this surgery with zero doubt and full trust in your surgeon.
