Hello, I’m trying the holistic approach in trying to slim down my abdomen area from having kids “the pouch”. Lipo has not been recommended to me as an option since I’ve lost a lot of weight. Around my belly button area I have some sagging skin. It was told tummy tuck would be best but, if I don’t want surgery Emsculpt could possibly help. I’m just looking for solid direction without spending money with no result. I do eat clean and go to work he gym 3-4 times per week. I’m 5’6” 155lbs
Answer: Please provide photos The answer depends on how much of bulge you have , the quality of the skin, the degree of sagginess, the degree of muscle separation, presence of stretch marks, any hernias and the result you want. If you provided photos, I can at least tell you whether EmSculpt Neo is appropriate for you. Remember, devices help achieve results when an appropriate candidate is selected and the appropriate treatment is performed. In person consultation and photos are warranted to have realistic assessment and plan.Good luck. Best, Dr.Anna Avaliani

Answer: Natural results without spending money, or having surgical intervention. What you’re asking for does not exist. If it did, we would all be doing it. Nobody wants to have a tummy tuck. Nobody really wants to pay for it either. The fact that women are willing to undergo this procedure with all of the negatives and drawback that comes with it, including a paying the high price is because it is the only way to reestablish something that resembles a pre-pregnancy abdomen after having children. The most expensive procedure is going to be procedures that don’t deliver outcomes. Emsculpt is not going to improve your condition. The treatment will not address muscle separation and it will not address skin laxity. The only treatment that does is a full tummy tuck. The best you can do on your own is staling strengthen your muscles and accept the changes that happened from having children. If you’re concerned about money, then don’t waste it on procedures that will not work. Emsculpt gives temporary muscle strengthening improvements only and at best. Muscle separation does not mean someone has weak muscles. It means that the fascia covering, which is in fact the tendon of flat abdominal muscles has been stretched, and this cannot be re-tightened without surgical intervention. I think you can stop searching. Thousands of women have done it before you. There’s really no need to reinvent the wheel. If you don’t want surgery, then that is respectable and fine. No one has to have cosmetic surgery. Just don’t expect lesser procedure to give quality results. The appearance of someone’s abdomen is based on four tissue variables. There are of course, exceptions, but in general, the appearance of someone’s belly is based on these for variables. 1) abdominal skin laxity due to previous pregnancies or weight loss. 2) excess subcutaneous fat. 3) muscle separation from previous pregnancy. 4) excess visceral or intra-abdominal fat. When making an assessment, the first step is to have a clear understanding of what the underlying problem or ideology is. Once an accurate diagnosis has been made an appropriate procedure or treatment option can be prescribed. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
