Why Does my Tummy Tuck Scar Itch?

My tt was done 4/15/10 and whenever I put jeans or panties on it itch Like crazy. And how well do the silcon sheets work on flatten the scar? There very exspensive and I dnt want to waste money if they don't work .

I would first discuss this with your primary care physician to exclude the possibility of a more serious underlying disease such as cardiac or pulmonary causes. Other than this the increased intraabdominal pressure from the muscle plication or medication side effects could be responsible....

You may want to undertake a 3 month course of core strengthening exercises using a Pilates type regimen. If this fails I would consider consultation with 3 different plastic surgeons to discover your candidacy for a tummy tuck.

I assume you mean a stomach ulcer and not a skin ulcer. There is no known causation in the fo rmer and the latter may be due to decreased sensation in the lower abdomen.

It is difficult to judge, but in some patients who have severe laxity of the abdominal muscle and fascia it is not always possible to get a washboard abdomen.  Also you may want to see your plastic surgeon to make sure your plication has not been compromise. There could be many reason...

IT seem's that women often use the expression that they are "having female surgery"  in  order to conceal the true nature of the surgery
