I have a light skin and dark hair , i did the first diode laser session , in the bikini area, underarms, legs and arms. I didn't feel any kind of pain and discomfort ! Why !?

Answer: No pain with the diode laser for hair removal I like my patient to feel the laser somewhat so I have a sense of their tolerability of higher settings. It doesn't mean the treatment wasn't effective, but it does mean that you could tolerate higher settings, if your skin can tolerate it. Discuss with your provider next time.

It is hard to judge whether or not you had a good treatment without knowing what the settings were and your melanin reading.Almost all newer lasers are safe for all skin types and have features built in (such as sapphire cooling tips) to make them more comfortable. Some of the newer technology is also more efficient, allowing for lower energy settings to be used with better results and less discomfort. It is unusual to have no discomfort with LHR, but it could be that you have a very high pain tolerance.We always raise the settings to a level where you can feel it and we can see a good reaction on the surface. Time will tell if you are getting effective treatments. Our patients often see results after one treatment and usually require a course of 4-6 treatments to destroy the majority of the productive hair follicles. Best of luck.
