My arms are not necessarily flabby just wrinkly. There is no fat. I'm 73 and when I can do weight training my biceps actually show it but the wrinkles are still there. What do you suggest?
Answer: Arm surgery Thank you for your question. Based on photos, it does appear you would be a candidate for some time of arm surgery. I would recommend an in person consultation to determine what your best treatment option would be.

Answer: Skin laxity From the provided photos it appears the issue is looseness of the skin. Due to the degree of the laxity you are not a good candidate for less invasive procedures like J Plasma. In order to correct the contour a brachioplasty surgery would be recommended. There are benefits and drawbacks to this procedure. I've included a video I hope you find helpful.

Answer: Tightening the Skin on Your Arm Thank you for your question regarding the possibility of tightening the skin on your arms. Based on your history and the photos provided, it appears you have excess skin leading to the wrinkles on your arms, with minimal fatty tissue. To effectively address this, a brachioplasty or arm lift is the most suitable procedure. During a brachioplasty, an incision is typically made from the armpit to the elbow, allowing for the removal of surplus skin and tightening of the remaining skin. The incision is strategically placed in the groove between the biceps and triceps muscles to make it as inconspicuous as possible. The procedure generally lasts 3 to 4 hours and requires general anesthesia. For recovery, plan for around two to three weeks, though individual experiences may vary. Typically, the use of drains post-operation isn't necessary for this procedure. I trust this information has given you a clearer understanding of how the excess skin on your arms can be addressed. Wishing you all the best with your potential brachioplasty. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Can the skin on my arms be tightened? (Photos) Option 1: An axillary (or armpit) incision can be used to remove a small ellipse of tissue. This arm lift is best utilized for patients who have loose skin confined to the arm pit area or uppermost aspect of the arm. The procedure can be combined with upper arm liposuction in the right patient to produce a dramatic improvement in upper arm contour. The scar remains hidden within the armpit.Options 2: You might be a good candidate for BodyTite with liposuction of the arms. BodyTite does not remove any fat, but it is capable of producing a 45% contraction in tissues. Consult with a board certified PS via email or Skype to discuss which option would be best for you.
