Is it normal to have pain in lips and a feel of burning after Restylane hyaluronic acid filler?

Is it normal to have pain in lips and a feel of burning after Restylane filler. I had 0.7ml divided between two lips this afternoon. They have swelled which I expected but the pain is really bad. Is this normal? If so how long will it last? I have been icing intermittently and taken paracetamol. What else can I do?

The nose likely is red from small capillaries and veins. These can be improved with IPL and vascular lasers. You should hold off on Restylane injections for now.RegardsDr. J

Hi & thank you for your question.Costs for Restylane varies from physician to physician. One syringe could be anywhere from $500 and up.  I would recommend calling around to physicians in your area for prices.Best of luck.

Please go back to your injector and ask them to dissolve the product. That could help the situation. Since the Hyaluronic acid (Restylane) is a hydrophilic product, any inflammation near the area of the fillers can cause swelling of the injected area. This might not be related to you reacting to...

Hi & thank you for your question.Yes it is fine to use Vaseline or any other lip moisturizer/chap stick.Your lips might tend to feel dry and this should help. Enjoy your results!
