Is it normal to have pain in lips and a feel of burning after Restylane filler. I had 0.7ml divided between two lips this afternoon. They have swelled which I expected but the pain is really bad. Is this normal? If so how long will it last? I have been icing intermittently and taken paracetamol. What else can I do?

this is absolutelly normal and will dissipate in a day or so. use ice compresses and take some Alleve. the swelling will go down and leave the lips the way you want

Thank you for your question. Having some swelling and discomfort is normal and can take up to 2 weeks to resolve. However, it is not normal to be experiencing a lot of pain and this needs to be evaluated. I recommend having a follow up immediately with your injector for an evaluation. Best of Luck!

Call your doctor ASAP. Discomfort is normal, but if you are having a lot of pain this should be assessed clinically by your Dr.  It probably is just swelling but in some patients there can be vascular compromise which is an urgent condition.
