Fibrous capsule from over injecting HA dermal filler. Will a massage help my situation?

I had a reacting and swelling injecting HA filler in one cheek multiple times. I then had all of the filler dissolved. My doctor said the Juvederm had caused a thin fibrous capsule to form around the filler. He gave me a steroid injection. It had positive effect, but the issue has not been fully rectified. I am nervous about having more steroid injections. Will massage or anything help the situation?

If you have filler in your nose, hylauronidase would certainly help. I would not recommend injecting it otherwise. If you are unhappy with the size of your nose, pursue plastic surgery for a rhinoplasty. Good luck.

Hyaluronidase most certainly will not cause nerve damage. Now it is possible that the needle used to inject the hyaluronidase can hit or pierce a nerve which can cause a bruised nerve and temporary problems.

Hi. Thank you for your question. There appears to be swelling in your photos, and it can take a few days to settle. Also, several sessions are needed to fully dissolve the residual filler.

There is no danger with using expired hyaluronidase. If there is any untoward effect, it will be slightly less effective. Given it was only 2 months expired, it will probably be just as effective though. I'm not recommending using any expired medications but just want to sooth your anxiety.

Fillers ALWAYS respond to hyaluronidase.  IF there is still swelling after that then RF treatments are needed to improve the lymphatic flow of that area and antibiotics are needed to decrease internal inflammation.  Eventually this will burn out unless its a true infection.
