Will IPL initially make my skin worse? I have rosacea.

surfsuncali
Nothing is really helping my rosacea, so I'm trying out IPL to see if that can help. 4 days out from my first treatment now. I swelled up in my cheeks some, but that has mostly gone down. I have been red on and off with itchy skin and new red papules. Also felt mildly sunburnt and pretty fried around the eyes after the IPL so i put burnjel on it, which helped a lot. I seem to have even more pustules around my chin than before too. Is this normal, does it get worse before it gets better with IPL?
