I think I have a canted smile, what are my options to fix this? Would Invisalign work?
Answer: Canted Smile You are a good candidate for orthodontics to correct your canted smile. Find a board certified orthodontist for a consultation. Should be able to be corrected fairly easily. Good luck.

Answer: Cant That is a very good question. However, based on the pictures you have provided, it cannot be determined if you have a cant or not. In order to determine if you have a cant, you need to check your smile with your eyes. Drawing a line between your eyes (called an inter-pupillary line) and looking if that line is parallel with your smile or not, will determine if you have a cant. Sometime, there is more lip elevation on one side upon smiling and that simply creates an illusion of a canted smile. You need to be seen by an orthodontist. Your orthodontist will take a series of photos of your teeth and your face and will go over each one of them with you to determine what the problems are and what can and cannot be addressed with braces. IF you do have a cant, then orthodontist can determine if it can be corrected with Invisalign or braces alone or not. Mild cases of cant can be fixed with braces or Invisalign alone and some severe cases will need surgical correction. Your orthodontist can determine that for you as well. Good luck! Dr. Sepi Torkan

Answer: Correction of a Cant With Invisalign It does appear that you have a cant with the right teeth a little down compared to the left. It sometimes happens with asymmetric growth of the facial bones. Since it is not a huge change needed, there is a good chance you can avoid surgical correction. Instead an experienced ORTHODONTIST can place some TAD's (bone anchors) and pull the teeth on that side up. This can be done with either braces or Invisalign. Please call an orthodontic specialist to evaluate your case carefully.
