What a pleasure it is to be a patient of Dr. Depew! I was fairly nervous going into my first appointment. However, I was put at ease from the moment I walked into the door. I was greeted by incredibly friendly staff. My appointment time was 10:15 and by 10:16 I was greeted in the waiting room by Dr. Depew personally. He introduced me to Kim. Kim was amazing as she walked me through the entire process. She checked on me regularly and made sure I understood all that was going on.Jessie, one of Dr. Depew's assistants was incredible as well! She let me know everything she was doing every step of the way. She also explained well what I needed to do to care for my oral hygiene now that I had braces. The office is clean, they use state of the art technology, and they handled the Covid-19 procedures impeccably. I highly recommend Dr. Depew and his amazing staff for all your orthodontic needs.

I began Orthodontic treatment as a teenager in the 1980's. Due to relapse and crowding, I was interested in limited Orthodontic treatment. Being familiar with Dr. Depew, I decided to seek treatment from him because he is an excellent Orthodontist. He is extremely knowledgable and very familiar with the latest techniques. His team is also phenomenal. Everyone is educated, accommodating, and kind. I would highly recommend this practice, and I'm absolutely pleased with the results.
15 years later, and I still get so many compliments on my smile! It’s all thanks to Dr. Depew. I work in an industry where my smile is very important, and I’m so grateful to be happy with my smile! I would happily recommend Dr. Depew to anyone looking to improve their smile.
I get SO many compliments on my smile. I loved my entire orthodontic experience because of Dr. Depew and his wonderful staff. I strongly recommend transforming your smile with Dr. Depew. You are guaranteed the best treatment.
I had lingual braces for two years. I now have perfectly straight teeth as a result. I am extremely happy with my teeth. I decided to get braces because my front teeth were crocked and I was biting my lip allot as a result. I did have to pay more for the lingual braces but it was worth it because of my age (mid 30's), my job and I was dating at the time. It is an adjustment at first when the lingual braces are put on, as is any type of braces. I had the traditional braces as a teenager, but did not wear my retainer. That was an expensive lesson learned. The lingual braces will at first give you a slight lisp but after two weeks you adjust. I used a water pik daily to help clean the braces and used Brace-eze when I would get any slight irritation from a wire or bracket after an adjustment. I think anyone getting braces needs to realize that regardless of the type braces you have, braces are meant to correct misaligned teeth and that comes with a slight discomfort at times due to teeth moving. Lingual braces are not anymore uncomfortable than regular traditional braces on the front of your teeth. It is extremely important that you have a very well trained Orthodontist and staff, check with people who have had braces or read online reviews. I spoke with many people who had gone to my Orthodontist before making my appointment. He came highly recommended, in fact my niece now sees him as well. I hope if you decide to get lingual braces that your experience is a pleasant one like mine. Updated on 13 Oct 2011: I would like to note after reading other reviews that I also had one baby tooth extracted and had one implant put in. This was a result of me never having a permanent tooth. I did not experience any negative impact or side effects of this. Then I had two crowns put in on both of my lateral incisors because they were both too small. I believe allot of the negative reviews are a direct result of the orthodontist chosen. It is critical to do allot of research on the type of braces and the orthodontist doing the work. I waited months before scheduling my initial consult and then once I had my consult I waited a few more months to make my decision. In that time I spoke with people who were wearing or had worn braces previously. Do diligent research on your provider BEFORE getting the braces!
I'm sorry you have to lose a premolar. To answer your question for certain, you'll need an exam by an orthodontist to evaluate the entire bite. What I would be looking for, among other things, are: 1) How the molars fit together on the right side. If the molars are already slightly forward of an ideal bite it could work out fine to close the space. 2) Is your upper midline currently on or off center? If the upper midline is off center to the left, closing the space could work out nicely in closing the gap and aligning the crooked tooth. If it is off center to the right, it would be more challenging closing the space without making it go further off center. 3) Your overbite. You said you have an overbite, but the pictures shows arrangement of your front teeth that is much more typical of a deep bite. So I encourage you to visit a qualified orthodontist to check it out. Good luck!
You are correct....you have peg upper lateral incisors. Also you have significant upper and lower spacing and a crossbite of the right incisors. The best way to approach this is to get braces first to correct the space and bite issues, leaving space on both sides of the peg teeth. The pegs can be restored by a cosmetic dentist who works closely with the orthodontist to determine the needed amount of space to leave.
Yes, likely now or in the future orthodontic treatment will be needed. Please take your child to an orthodontic specialist to assess the entire situation. They can look at the growth and development and create space, if needed, for teeth that do not have enough room. If appropriate, they may just monitor until your child is a bit older and has more teeth to work with. The key is...to get in and be seen soon. Good luck!
Yes...before we do braces on anyone, we want to be sure teeth are healthy and in good shape. In your particular case the diagonal fracture would make it difficult to place the brace on the right spot on the tooth. So getting it fixed first would be helpful. I suggest doing it with composite bonding. Even if you consider it temporary. You can always do a crown once the braces are removed.
It's hard to tell for sure if you will need IPR or not, because none of your photos show you biting all the way together. But common sense does indicate that you have a tooth size/arch length discrepancy, and making lower space through IPR, or other means, will likely be indicated.
