Thank you for your question. Great photos and very detailed observation of what has been done so far. Yes, you do have an edge to edge bite and it can be damaging on your teeth. We will need to take one extra x-rays to look at our options for your treatment. There is a good chance this can be treated with having to take any more teeth out (I will not be able to give you a definitive answer without having full records an doing an exam). The process might including doing something called IPR (shaving a little in between your bottom teeth) so they can be pushed behind your top teeth, you would also have to wear some rubber bands too. This decision to do orthodontic treatment will have amazing positive results on your life.

Thanks for your question. The success of Invisalign lies in the hands of the orthodontist who is treating you. The Invisalign by itself is a piece of plastic and the movements that are incorporated into it is what is important. There are canine impaction cases that can be treated with Invisalign. But it depends on several factors. Angle of the tooth, position of the tooth, distance from the arch, bone condition around it are just a few of the factors that will determine how much work will be needed to bring an impacted tooth into the arch. There are also combination treatments available. For more difficult canine impactions, you might be able to start with few (or all ) braces and switch to Invisalign once you make decent progress. Your orthodontist will take photos and x-rays to determine that for you. Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the best course of action without looking at your x-ray first.

Thanks for your question. I am not sure if the photo is a true representation of your bite. If you are biting all the way down, your front teeth do not touch. That is called an openbite. It also seems like you have some extra overjet meaning your bottom teeth are too far back. In case you are not biting all the way down, you might not have either of those problems. 

I do see the little space between your top front teeth and the crowding on the top and bottom. Based on the records you have provided, I would say that 10  weeks will not be enough to achieve the ideal bite for you. Even if you do not have an openbite, 10 weeks will still not be enough to make everything perfect. Teeth have to move at a certain rate for stable results. An orthodontist will take full records and x-rays for you before they decide the best course of treatment. That way, your orthodontist can verify your bite as well.

Thank you for your question. The rule of thumb is teeth will grow until they find each other. If there is something in between the teeth, it will hinder the bite closure. As long as there is an object in between the teeth, your openbite will not close. So the first step will be to stop the habit. For some people, it is just a matter of remembering to not put anything in between your teeth and there are some orthodontic appliances that do that. So the first step would be the willingness for the change and I am pretty sure you are determined to do that. The next step is the health of your gum. I would recommend seeing the general dentist and making sure the gums are healthy. Then, you can schedule an appointment to see an orthodontist and they will do xrays and photos to decide what needs to be done. 

Orthodontic treatment will lead to a big change in your smile and your eating habit and I am positive that you will love it.

Thank you for your question. Unfortunately the photo has turned out a little blurry and impossible to check your receding gum on it. 


Prior to starting orthodontic treatment, your orthodontist and dentist will discuss the health of your gum. Invisalign does not cause gums to recede, but active gum disease might. So you should just maintain your oral hygiene and make sure your gums are healthy. 


One of the best things that can be done for crooked teeth is orthodontic treatment. Brushing the teeth and maintaining oral hygiene will become so much easier.

In some cases, the nature of the gum is so thin that gum graft might be required either before or after treatment. Your orthodontist will check that and discuss it with you if need be. In the meantime, make sure you are brushing your teeth really well.
