I’m now 6 weeks post FUE and donor area had many pimples and veg itchy. My doctor said this normal and I can’t find anywhere on the net who has had anything similar. I’m convinced it’s a infection. Doctor aid these are ingrown hairs and will go within 3 months. Just so itchy. Can I have a second opinion please. Hope someone can help

Answer: Pimples, pustules and redness after hair transplantation Great question. In my personal view and experience, your clinical information and photos are an indication of folliculitis (infection). I will recommend to contact your hair surgeon for evaluation as soon as possible. Good luck.

Answer: Infection after FUE No that is not an infection..The redness remains just after surgery and it is "normal" to stay for months. That pinkish redness/discoloration may fade away in a long time up to 3-4 months . İt depends on your skin color/fitzpatrick classification (Lighter the color of your skin , more reddish discoloration on skin after surgery). I recommend you to use nothing for that temporary situation. These small or different sized pimples may be observed 1-2 months after HT op . Reason for that is kinky new growing hair causes small enfected foci of underneath skin. I suggest you to hot water compress on to pimples by using a small hot wet towel for 2-3 minutes and 2 times a day for 1 week.İt surprisingly decrease the inflammation and infection.
