Thank you for your question regarding preferred compression garments for an inner thigh lift or a thigh reduction. There are many companies which make many different types of compression garments. The compression garment used after medial thigh lifts are not technically bought off the rack, but are medical grade. Medical grade means that the material used is top quality and provides support, comfort, is breathable, and lasts. I have performed hundreds of thigh lifts and almost all my patients are placed in a compression garment after their thigh lift. In my opinion, for patients undergoing the thigh lift, it is important that the compression garment has a closed (not open) crotch. I have found that sometimes if the crotch is open, the seams on the opening of the garment in the crotch can actually rub and dig into the thigh lift incision and cause incision break down. Therefore, I would suggest a closed crotch garment for your thigh lift . Also, Typically this thigh lift garment should extend from above the hips to below the knees. If you have continued swelling, the garment should actually go down to the ankles. There are many brand names including Marena and Veronique. Thank you for your question regarding preferred compression garments for an inner thigh lift or a thigh reduction. I specialize in thigh lifts. If you have any more questions regarding the thigh lift, thigh reduction, or thigh liposuction, please contact my office. Since your thigh lift case is special and requires a revision, which is more difficult than an initial thigh lift, please seek an experienced, board certified plastic surgeon with significant experience performing these types of thigh lifts. Do your research. Make sure your chosen plastic surgeon has performed at least 100 thigh lifts. Make sure they have the before and after pictures to prove it. Carefully examine their before and after pictures and check their reviews on RealSelf. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen.
