Can my edges grow if I never had them? It's very frustrating because I don't know what to try.

No matter what Prevention you try it will not regrow hair in an area where you have completely lost. The only thing to do that is a transplant. Which is possible and we perform that surgical procedure all of the time. 

It is unlikely that you can grow hair where you don't have any unless on close inspection you do have hair that is not visible tot he naked eye.  In that case, minoxidil (Rogaine) and laser therapy may help.  Otherwise, a transplant may be your best option.
