I'm concerned about the gums around my bottom front teeth. I know I should see a periodontist but I don't want to even think about having a gum graft while I have braces! However, I also don't want to endanger the health of my teeth. Does it look like I can wait a year and a half or however much longer I have in braces before seeing a periodontist? My teeth don't especially hurt and I don't care about aesthetics too much, I just want to protect my teeth for the long term.
