Hi everyone..i got 2500 grafts transplanted in late December 2014. Its been 3 months now since everything was fine but suddenly today (30th march, 2015), i noticed swelling in the form of a little mold (highlighted with a red color circle in the attached image). I am interested to know if it is fine or not.
Answer: No In general, you get swelling a few days after surgery. It is not normal to have swelling few months after surgery. Swelling can be a sign of early infection. You need an exam and follow up by a doctor. Photos are not a substitute for an exam.

Answer: You may need to go in for a follow up. Anything can happen at this point, but it is rare. An in person consult is really the best option.

Answer: Swelling at 3 months I am answering this question in July so you already must have growth by now with no problems with regard to swelling. If not, re-write us and we can address the swelling issues.

Answer: Swelling after transplant Usually swelling may occur a couple of days after the procedure. It is not normal to get swelling three months after. Some times as the hair starts to come in at the three month mark the skin gets thicker and gives appearance of swelling. but to make sure it is nothing to worry about, it is best to contact your doctor and go for a follow up visit.

Answer: Hair Follicles Reawakening After Hair Transplantation Avoid Infection It most likely is not anything to worry about but please see and review with your surgeon. Hair follicles reawaken 2-5 months after the procedure and will begin to grow through the skin. They will be finer in nature to begin with and become thicker over time. The start of regrowth is sometimes accompanied by itchiness and if scratched can get is secondary infection and some "swelling". Wash your hands before touching your scalp and try not to scratch your scalp.
