My shoulders are extreamly broad with 17 inches across while my hip's width is just 14 inches, I had given hope that I will ever be womanly but somebody suggested I should get hip implants to widen my hips, how much inches can I get with implants? Below are my photos one is the current one in which you can see how manly I look and the other one is what I desire, is it possible to look like that for me as a trans women? Can I get 16 inhes of hip width?
Answer: Body contouring options Major body contouring options generally come down to Liposuction and fat transfer or implants. Implants have a pretty long list of complications and undesirable side effects so they are not done as commonly and most plastic surgeons do not offer gluteal or hip implants as a regular procedure. If you haven’t done so already in the lip assuction with well done fat grafting is probably your best option. That said, liposuction and fat grafting is permanent and irreversible. It is absolutely imperative that before anyone sign up for that type of procedure that they have properly vetted and chosen the most talented and experienced surgeon for the procedure. Almost every plastic surgeon will tell you they have lots of experience and are good at Liposuction but results speak otherwise. To deliver consistent quality liposuction and fat grafting results is far more difficult than most people including plastic surgeons believe. To find the most experience and talented provider I recommend patients schedule numerous in person consultations. you can start with five consultations but unless you pre-select the providers carefully you may have to do many more before you find someone who really knows how to do these procedures well consistently. When reviewing before and after pictures ask each provider to show their entire collection of torso liposuction especially feminizing procedures that go from the shoulders to the knees. An experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you an absolute minimum of 50 sets of before and after pictures and highly experienced surgeons will have hundreds or even thousands of Liposuction/fat transfer before and after pictures of abdominal or torso results. Perfect transfer make absolutely sure that after pictures are taken at least three months from the date of the procedure. Early fat grafting results can look very impressive but do not at all represent final results. When reviewing pictures ask the provider to clearly show you which areas were treated and which trees were not treated so you can see transition zones from treated to untreated areas. personally I viewed a torso as a single anatommic unit and typically treat the entire torso when doing liposuction. Likewise when doing fat grafting to the hips and buttocks I view that as a continuation of the torso and view the results based on developing a feminized S-curve that goes from the shoulders to the knees. There’s a fair amount of clumsy unsophisticated crude cartoonish results being created by plastic surgeons who lack aesthetic judgment skill and experience with the procedure is referred to as a BBL or a Brazilian butt lift. This is simply grafting fat to the hips and buttocks to hyperfeminize body. When done correctly you can give sweeping accentuated feminine curves which is exactly what you’re looking for. As is almost always the case finding the right provider is the key to having an overall good experience and ending up with a result that’s consistent with what you had hoped for. Obviously some patients are better candidates than others. In the end the only two variables that matter are the scale of the surgeon that combined with the candidacy of the patient. Hip implants or gluteal implants may be an option but there’s a good reason most plastic surgeons stay away from these procedures. Personally I don’t recommend them. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
