Left side of my face is hollow than right.i used to chew tobacco from left portion.now i am considering fat transfer.can the result will be permanent?i have left tobacco since 2 year.and i am 25 yo male.some fat is also needed in right portion.
Answer: Achieving Facial Symmetry and Balance Thank you for your question. Keep in mind that some asymmetry is normal and everyone has that issue to some degree. If the imbalance bothers you, there are non-surgical ways to address it and create a more aesthetically pleasing facial contour. Fat transfer is one option, but you can also consider dermal fillers. While these do not provide results that last as long as fat, the results can be more predictable. If you decide you like the results you get with the filler, you could switch to fat to create a more permanent result. Make sure you work with a board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in non-surgical facial contouring to ensure your procedure is both safe and successful

Answer: Hollow cheeks Review of your photographs does show some asymmetry in the fullness of your cheeks. The best way to address would be with volume correction , either using facial fillers or your own fat. Neither correction is permanent, but fat grafting can last much longer. Most patients typically require more than one transfer to achieve correction due to partial loss of graft material. Facial fillers are somewhat less invasive and correction can usually be accomplished in one sitting. Depending on the material used, they can last from six months to two years. Discuss your desired results with an experienced surgeon to determine what is the best option for you.

Answer: Left side of my face is hollow. Would fat grafting help? Dear Kunal, Little bit of facial asymmetry is considered normal. If you feel it is still annoying Yes definitely Fat fill can be done to add volume to your face and to correct asymmetry. The results are permanent. There may be 30-40% absorption of fat post surgery and you may need more than a single sitting to achieve the desired results. Meet a board certified plastic surgeon nearby for examination and further consultation. Hope this will help.

Answer: Creating facial symmetry with fat transfer I have A three-part answer to your post. The first is a discussion of facial symmetry or in reality body symmetry or rather asymmetry. The human body is not symmetrical. None of our body is symmetrical. Internally all your internal organs are asymmetric. Your heart is on one side, your liver is on the other, One testicle hangs lower than the other, you're probably right handed or left-handed, One leg is probably longer than the other, one of your eyesockets probably sits higher than the other, women's left breast usually sits about a half inch higher than the right side based on the inframammary fold. Everyone has facial asymmetry. A dominant and nondominant side. You were no exception. Your level of facial asymmetry is very much within normal standards. If you've ever seen a photo shopped image of a symmetrical face made up of two left versus two rides then you will see how different the two sides are really hard. Another interesting thing observed when you see a pure symmetrical face created as a computer image is that they look strange. Symmetrical faces look strange and the reason is you've never seen one in person. The human mind and I is used to seeing asymmetry and we perceive it as natural. I assure you if you look at examples like the Mona Lisa or Michelangelos "David" you will see a symmetry. These are often considered to be aesthetic ideals. Try to get over the concept that symmetry is desirable and normal. It is incorrect thinking that our mini plastic surgeons still striving for creating symmetry. The truth is that in an attempt to create symmetry through a body manipulation with plastic surgery and new and natural symmetry is almost always created. I would bet money on that you're fat layers are even in the same thickness on both sides of your face. Your facial asymmetry is not related to chewing tobacco but rather your underlying fundamental facial skeletal structures. Creating symmetry by adding fat to one side will give you a new asymmetry. It will make your fat layers uneven. This new created a symmetry is unnatural and will look unnatural. There is a condition where people lose facial volume on one side of their face in adulthood. The condition is called Romberg's disease or rather parry Romberg's disease. I'm somewhat reluctant to even mention this because you do not have it. At times people find a condition that they recognize in themselves and start obsessing over this condition. This happens all the time during medical school training. We read about different pathological conditions and say oh I have that I must have this disease. Again, I would bet money that you do not have this condition. You can read about it and see examples and recognize that your facial asymmetry is nothing near what these poor individuals suffer from. There's no evidence nor have I ever heard of chewing tobacco causing facial volume loss. Even if you only chewed on one side. The effects of chewing tobacco on one side could potential he lead you to a higher chance of developing oral cancer on the outside and give you a systemic affects of nicotine that would be symmetrical. That's it, there's nothing more to it. I hope I don't insult you by saying this but my recommendation to you is to except what I've said about natural asymmetry, I'll just stop looking in the mirror and move on with your life. Work out, be happy, Be healthy and get laid. Attractive young man should not be looking in the mirror. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
