How many days does it usually take to get rid of scabs of transplanted area ? My skin is hard actually and i scare touching my implanted area. Some hairs have started growing. Does hair usually fall during wash for removing the scabs ?

You may start to wash your transplant area at second day of surgery with care and massage the transplant area gently so the scabs will fall off... After two weeks of hair transplantation it is acceptable to wash hairs as normal /preoperative period of surgery. All scabs should be cleaned with pressured (not gentle) massage to transplant area after 2 weeks .Dont forget that you may wash your head with normal pressure and if you need you can use a wet towel with soap for massage the scabby area, it Works very well to remove scabs .Patient may feel free to loosen any scabs on his/her head by massaging and that will not damage the grafts after 2 weeks .

Hello! Thank you for your question. Recovery after Hair Transplant normally takes 10-14 days. And the scabs start start appearing by the end of first week post-op. And by day 10-12 the scabs should be gone already. You should have daily washing procedure based on your surgeons washing technique. If you still have scabs, apply the shampoo and leave it for 20 mins, and then wash off your head by gently massaging the transplanted area with your finger tips. Do it daily, till all the scabs are gone.  You might see some of the transplanted hair are falling off, it is absolutely normal, you are having shedding process, which might take up to 4-6 weeks.

All of the crusts (Scabs) should be removed by good washing techniques the day and the day after the surgery before the build up and stay for a month
