How to clean nose post rhinoplasty

How to clean nostrils post the surgery: 1) is it ok to clean the nose with wet cotton buds? I hv splint and takes removed and it has been 9 days post my surgery. I tried cleaning this way after consulting with my doc. What I felt that in one of my nostril cotton bud isn't going straight I can feel there is some hump / may be a swelling on cartilage be t not sure. Is it normal? 2) I have read that one should avoid blowing nose but then how can I control yawning? It's little impossible..
