I am a 19 y.o male with M shape receding hairline. I have been diagnosed with MPB and I had a few questions. If I continue PRP and Minoxidil then, 1) will it be able to regrow the thinning hair at my hairline? 2) How long will PRP and Min only prevent further hair loss given that I use them continuously? 3) After 25, can I get a hair transplant with Min and PRP as my preventative regimens only? 4) Since my hairline has already receded to M shape, am I destined for advanced balding pattern?
Answer: Minoxidil and PRP - Is it going to be enough? This is a great question. You have 80-100 + years ahead of you so there are alot of unknowns. Nobody can give you what I call the crystal ball answer. However, the good news is you’ve started a plan and you’ll know in 9 months to 12 months just how effective this is. For some males, the combination of minoxidil and PRP works well, for other it works only a bit to slow hair loss and for some males it does not work at all. You’ll know in the near future and then you and your doctors can make a decision as to whether you should continue one or both of add other treatments like oral minoxidil, topical or oral finasteride or laser. Hair transplants should be avoided until 24-25 and if you are not sure why that is you’ll want to keep doing your research. The biggest error that exists here in this question is the assumption that minoxidil and PRP are going to hold things in place and prevent any further hair loss over the next 80-120 years. They may of course help wonderfully but the chances they will “be enough” for 8 to 10 decades is low. They may be a very good option for the next 3-5 years and maybe 10 in some cases. Further hair transplants or additional treatments may be needed down the road. We don’t know exactly what your male balding genes will want to guide the hair to do, but a treatment approach that takes into account all the hair loss possibilities is ideally what’s needed. Congratulations for taking these steps to address the loss so far. Be sure to take photos every 4-6 months (not more often) to evaluate how things are changing.

Answer: PRP and Minoxidil PRP - Maintenance treatments are often recommended to sustain the results. The frequency of maintenance sessions varies but is commonly every 4-6 months. Minoxidil - The effectiveness of minoxidil can vary among individuals. Some people may experience sustained hair growth for years, while others may see results for a shorter duration.

Answer: Hair Transplant Hello, with Prp & Minoxidil you can have Regrowth in your frontal area to an extent but this hairs are villus & thin hair, which you will loose once you stop Prp & Minoxidil. No Patient is advised to use Minoxidil Indefinitely or Continuously. We usually advise you to get a hair transplant done once your hair loss stabilizes after that with hair transplant & medicines with Prp you should do fine. Thanks.
