If I like the implant size, should I go a little bigger if I under the muscle? (photos)

Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. I would recommend sticking with the size you like best but if you are going to be more disappointed being a bit smaller than you think, select the 325cc. Hope this helps.

Most patients do not complain after breast augmentation, but if pushed, will say they wish they went with the little bit bigger size. 25 cc is a minor difference and won't drastically change results.

25 cc is very little difference in volume and difficult to appreciate. Even so, go with the 300cc as many women return after breast implants and wish they had gone larger.

Yes that is absolutely true- when going under the muscle pick the sizer that you like and then bump up the volume a notch to account for the factor that the muscle tends to squash the implants a little.

I almost always place implants submuscular. It lowers the rate of capsular contracture significantly. In addition, it looks much more natural because the muscle provides covering over the implant so its not as round on the top. I've also noticed the implants drop less over time when they are protected under the muscle.

There is only about a tablespoon difference between the two. I use the implant size the patient selects, but do what your physician advises. The volume is still present, but the muscle does tend to flatten the implant some. However, the muscle gives more upper breast fullness. I think it evens out in the long run.
